In the latest in our
new series of blogposts on the most accessible cities in Europe, we are
visiting a place that has an obsession with all forms of wheeled transport:
Amsterdam. It’s a city that loves bicycles, so as a consequence it is no
surprise that it is also a fantastic destination for those of us who use a
mobility scooter or wheelchair to get about. Add in an extensive and accessible
public transport system and the fact that it is one of the flattest cities in
Europe and you can see why it makes for the perfect accessible getaway.
For the fourth in our
series of blogposts on accessible getaways abroad, we head to Berlin. The
German capital is one of the most fascinating cities in Europe: rich in
history, art and culture. It also very accessible for those of us with
different mobility needs. So, here is Quingo Scooters’ guide to just a few of
the best accessible sights in Berlin.
Charlottenburg Palace
The spectacular Charlottenburg
Palace was home to the Prussian royal family for hundreds of years,
and today it is one of Berlin’s most popular attractions.
This is the third in
our series of blogposts on accessible getaways abroad, and this time we are
headed to Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen. It is, without doubt, one of the most
accessible cities in Europe.
When you consider that
a third of Danes in the city use bikes on a daily basis, it is no surprise that
so much of this fantastic city has been designed with wheels in mind. You’ll
find it a simple and straightforward place to get around, with ramps in all the
right places and accessible public transport links across the city.
For this second
blogpost in our new accessible getaways abroad series, we’re visiting one of
the most famous cities in Europe: the ‘Eternal City’ of Rome.
With its ancient ruins,
street cafes and fantastic food, Rome is wonderful city to spend time in. While
there are few issues for disabled visitors here and there (not least,
cobblestones and those famous seven hills), don’t let that put you off. Most of
the city’s most famous sites are accessible to visitors with various mobility
requirements.
We’re now expanding our
accessible travel guides to Europe, and so in this first post of the new series
we’re taking you to Paris, the ‘City of Light’. It is one of the most famous
cities in the world as well as one of the most beautiful, and we’re pleased to
say that many of its most fascinating attractions are accessible to those of us
with different mobility needs. So, with that in mind, here is Quingo Scooters’
guide to some of the best accessible sights in Paris.
