All Quingos are perfect shopping partners but how much can you safely carry?

All of us need to do our weekly shop and when using your Quingo to help out in this task it is important to be clear on what can and should be safely carried. Using the shopping basket on your Quingo gives you plenty of space for your shopping but being aware of the storage capacity of the basket will give you an indication of what you can safely take if you’re planning on doing a larger shop.

Quingo Scooters

All scooters in the Quingo range come with a removable front shopping basket and there are two types. The table below shows which model has which, their relative dimensions and their carrying capacity.

Model Basket Type Inside Dimensions Carrying Capacity Scooter Carrying Capacity (Including User)
Quingo Air Front Wire Mesh 34 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm 8 Kg 21 st/136 Kg
Quingo Classic Front Wire Mesh 34 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm 8 Kg 25 st/159 Kg
Quingo Plus Front Wire Mesh 34 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm 8 Kg 25 st/159 Kg

Quingo Flyte Wire Magnetic Under Seat 40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm 16 Kg* 25 st/159 Kg

* This is the combined capacity of the under seat basket and the optional Front High Impact Plastic basket. The optional Front High Impact Plastic basket has the following dimensions and capacity:
36 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm        8 Kg

The Wire Mesh basket equates to about two lightly packed standard supermarket carrier bags while the moulded, high impact plastic versions have slightly more capacity and the advantage of a chassis mounted fixing meaning steering remains unaffected by the weight of the basket. The maximum carrying capacity on all styles is 8kg.

It should be noted that if you plan on shopping for some particularly heavy items, this can affect your scooters range. The heavier the load, the more reduced your scoters range will be. For more information about this please look at our earlier blogpost on getting the most out of your Quingo’s batteries.

Storage options and accessories for your Quingo

Lockable storage Box:

The Quingo Classic and the Quingo Plus models have the option of a Front Lockable Storage box, which attaches to the front of your scooter replacing the basket.  This is ideal for protecting and storing more valuable personal items.
